What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Please arrive at the venue 30-15 minutes early, NO LATER than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Those who arrive late will be asked to wait to join the other guests at the beginning of cocktail hour as to not interrupt the ceremony. If you enter during the ceremony time you will be basically behind the bride and groom while they are getting married, which is less than ideal. You can arrive as early as 3:30, to allow yourself time to park, sign the guestbook, and find your seat.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that you do not take photos during the ceremony. The ceremony will be unplugged, and solely captured by our professional photographers.
After the ceremony, please feel free to take as many photos as your heart desires! There will be a QR code located on each table, and we ask that you scan this code to share those photos with us so we can also remember the day through your lens!
What should I wear?
The dress code will be formal. This does not need to be a full tux or a floor length gown. No jeans. Please do not wear a cream or white dress, for obvious reasons.
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. If you have received a plus one it will be indicated on the invitation. Otherwise, we ask that only the named guests on the invitation are in attendance.
Additionally, if someone addressed by name on your invitation cannot make it their invitation is not transferrable. If you wished to bring someone that was not addressed, these people are also respectfully asked to still not attend after dinner is over, we apologize for the inconvenience.
We have received several questions regarding this, so please know our minds will not be changing on this due to budget and our guest list being mostly family oriented.
Thank you for understanding!
Is the wedding outside?
No, the ceremony and reception will all be inside. With this being said, please do not smoke inside the venue at any time, but feel free to enjoy a cigar outside if wanted.
Is there parking onsite?
Yes, parking is available behind the venue for guests. If parking is full, although we do not believe this will happen, please utilize street parking on nearby crossroads.
If you do need to leave your car overnight, be sure to let the venue employees know and pick it up promptly in the morning as to not interfere with weddings being hosted there the next day.
Where should I stay for the wedding weekend?
We have booked a hotel room block at the Chicago Marriott Northwest to accommodate our guests from out of town. The block discount is permitted for one day prior and one day following the wedding date.
When booking be SURE to mention you are booking with the Bialas/Harrington block to gain access to the shuttle and discounted price. It is easiest to book this by calling the specific location and talking to the front desk instead of the 800 Marriott number for booking.
Please visit our "travel" tab on the wedding website for more details and links to make this process smoother.
Is there a cut off date for the room block?
You must book prior to May 21st, 2026 to utilize the room block.
What is the best airport to fly into?
I would suggest utilizing O'Hare (ORD) Airport for flights. Other options that are further away would be Midway and Rockford airports.
Is there a shuttle service from the hotel?
Yes, if you utilized the room block there will be a shuttle at 11:45PM that will take hotel guests from the venue to the hotel.
Other transportation will be provided for all guest from the venue to the hotel at 10PM, 10:40PM, and 11:20PM.
If you have not booked at that hotel through the room block, or if you booked at that hotel but are not utilizing our room block, you will not be able to utilize the 11:45PM shuttle.
For any further details regarding the room block, please view the other question regarding it, or the "travel" section on this site.
Will there be an open bar?
I like to say there are no stupid questions, but this would be the exception! We want you to have the best time possible, so please drink responsibly while still having a blast! Also, make sure to have transportation sorted for yourself as well if you will be indulging.
Drinks are on us, but the hangover is on you!
(Please note the bar will be closed for 1 hour during dinner, but will open back up as dancing begins)
What is on the menu?
The dinner will be a served buffet where guests can enjoy both meat options. The menu is assorted breads, chicken piccata, carne asada with a chimichurri, broccolini, and mashed potatoes. Cocktail hour will have three appetizers to snack on: mini hot dogs, pepper jack mac & cheese bites, and meatballs.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
If you have dietary restrictions, please include this when answering your RSVP. There will be a section there to note this when going through the link, or text the bride/groom if you are unable to find it.
Please note, though, that dietary restrictions are medically related allergies to foods or if you are vegan/vegetarian. This does not apply to your personal preferences.
Are children welcome?
As much as we adore your little kids, the wedding is exclusively for adults, with the exception of close family who were formally invited and addressed on the families invitation.
All children invited will have an age that is a double digit and are close family of the bride and groom. Please note music will be played with vulgar language.
When is the RSVP deadline?
The deadline to RSVP is April 10th, 2026.
What if I do not RSVP in time?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate you if you RSVP late. We need to provide our vendors with an exact number of guests by a certain date. While we will be sending out invitations early, and reminders, please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible.
What should I do if I can't make it?
We will miss you dearly, but also understand! If you cannot attend the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no", so we can plan accordingly.
